Why this appetite control snack works: glucomannan
Glucomannan is a soluble fibre extracted from the root of the konjac plant, native to East Asia and used in cooking for over 1500 years. What makes it unique is its ability to absorb water. In contact with stomach fluids, it forms a dense gel that takes up physical space. This slows gastric emptying and prolongs fullness, naturally and without stimulants.
EFSA recognises glucomannan as an ingredient that contributes to the maintenance of normal body weight in adults, as part of a calorie-restricted diet. It is one of the few natural ingredients with this claim approved in Europe. You can check it in the EU register of health claims.
Organic inulin completes the action of glucomannan with a different mechanism. It acts as a prebiotic and feeds the beneficial bacteria in your gut. Together, glucomannan and inulin make this appetite control snack an ally for satiety and digestive health.
